Our story

Born from a love of food. Built for community.

A few donated ingredients. A borrowed kitchen. A belief that good food could do more.
The Demopoulos family together in the kitchen

From a pivot to a purpose.

After losing our previous business during the COVID-19 pandemic, we reflected on what truly mattered. We kept coming back to the families and kids we had gotten to know while working in low-income school districts.

Seeing nutritious food go to waste while our neighbors struggled to access meals motivated us to act. Philo’s Kitchen began with a mission to turn surplus perishable food into delicious, ready-to-heat meals.

What started with donated ingredients and a borrowed kitchen has grown through volunteers, partnerships and a community that cares. Beyond meals, our long-term vision includes cooking skills, nutrition and healthier daily habits.
